Abstract

This research explores the utilization of Boson sampling to advance Quantum Random Number Generation (QRNG), leveraging its inherent randomness as a foundational element. Aim: The primary objective is to develop an innovative QRNG by harnessing Boson sampling, with a specific emphasis on calculating the unitary transformation matrix U crucial for understanding quantum interference phenomena. Method: Boson sampling serves as the core methodology for designing the Quantum Random Number Generator. The research focuses on the meticulous calculation of the unitary transformation matrix U, selected for its direct relevance to the study’s objectives. Integration of the Penceval and Strawberry fields platforms facilitates the generation of binary sequences (comprising 0s and 1s), combining their functionalities seamlessly. Results: The findings demonstrate the successful generation of unbiased binary sequences through the collaborative efforts of Boson sampling, Penceval, and Strawberry fields platforms. Employing the Von Neumann correction method effectively rectifies biases, resulting in outputs with high entropy. This approach not only surpasses the limitations of existing discrete QRNGs but also underscores the synergistic potential between Boson sampling and advanced quantum computing platforms.
