Background and motivation

The SLU Journal of Science and Technology  (Online: ISSN 2736-0903; Print ISSN: 2736-089X) is an open access, peer reviewed and refereed international journal published by the Faculty of Natural & Applied Sciences (FNAS) and the Faculty of Computing and Information Technology (FCIT), Sule lamido University, Kafin Hausa, Jigawa State, Nigeria.  The Journal publishes bi-annually in June and December.  The main objective of SLUJST is to provide an intellectual platform for the exchange of the latest research in Science, Engineering and Technology. The Journal is currently indexed in CrossRef, Google Scholar, Sule Lamido University Kafin Hausa Libraries,  ResearchGate, Journals for free, ACADEMIA

It is our great pleasure to introduce the special issue of the SLUJST on Computing & Advances in Information and Communication Technologies targeting the general public from both academia and industry especially in the domains of computing, networking, emerging technologies, ethical and legal issues and information technology.

 

 

Objectives

The special issue will feature recent advancements in computing, networking and communications technologies.  To find out the state-of-the-art, thought-provoking areas, and to present consolidated expert views on Fostering Digital Economy through Recent Trend in Information Technology and Telecommunications and the applicability of ICT for sustainable development for practical applications to the concerned readers and experts in both academia and industry.  

 Scope and topics

The target audiences of the special issue are from different backgrounds including academia, industries and practitioners. This special issue solicits papers with research contributions that specifically apply the computing, networking and communications technologies to address societal challenges. The topics for this special issue include, but are not limited to:

  • Control and Optimizations
  • Robotics and the 4IR
  • IoT, Image Processing, Cryptography and Networking
  • Deep reinforcement learning for BigData and IoT
  • MIS, Digital Transformation and Social Computing Technologies.
  • Channel models for 5G and beyond.
  • ICT and disaster risk management
  • Cybersecurity Issues in IoT, 5G & 6G, and Cloud Computing.
  • Experimental prototypes, testbeds and trials.

Type of contributions

High quality original articles, review articles and industrial experiences that describe significant scientific contributions. As such, both theoretical and empirical manuscripts can be submitted to the special issue.  All reviewed and accepted papers will be published in Vol 6 issues 1 &2 (March 2023).

 

 

 Submission and Author’s Guidelines

Authors should prepare their manuscript according to the Guide for Authors available from the online submission page of the SLUJST available on: https://slujst.com.ng/index.php/jst/about/submissions. All papers will be peer-reviewed following the SLUJST reviewing procedures.  The submission to the special issue will be made through the SLUJSTelectronic email submission system (siccait@slu.edu.ng). All submissions within the scope of the special issue will be peer-reviewed by at least two experts in the research area according to the SLUJST  reviewer’s guideline and reviewing procedure.

The APC for the special issue is N25,000.00 ($50.00) and payable upon the acceptance of article after peer-review process. No charges for article review. All payment are to be made to:

Corresponding author of each paper is entitled to one copy of the print journal. Additional copy of the special issue will attract a fee of N 3500 ($10.00) per copy. Articles are freely available for download on the Journal website.
